An artist's reflection on creating with intention, designing for the individual, and seeing a handcrafted piece become part of someone's story.
These handcrafted earrings were created for Alice Walker, Pulitzer Prize–winning author, poet, and activist, best known for her iconic work, The Color Purple.
In creating the earrings, Marsha studied Alice Walker's personal style and designed the piece with her in mind, an intentional approach to creating something distinctive and expressive for the person who would wear it.
What makes this moment especially meaningful is that Alice Walker was photographed wearing the earrings on more than one occasion. Seeing the piece become part of her personal style was a rewarding affirmation of the thought and intention behind its creation.
This remains a meaningful chapter in the Heavenly Beads & More journey—a reminder that when art is created with intention, it can travel beyond the studio and become part of someone's story.
